Harwich Beaches

Beach stickers may be purchased 7 days a week, from 8am – 3pm at the Harwich Community Center, 100 Oak Street. For questions about Harwich beach stickers, call 508-430-7555.

1. Bank Street Beach: Located on Nantucket Sound near Harwichport center; at the end of Bank Street.

2. Bucks Pond Beach: Fresh water beach off of Route 39. . 4. Fernandes Bog: Off of Long Pond Drive, between Routes 137 and 124.

5. Long Pond: A large freshwater pond located off of Routes 124 and 137.

6. Pleasant Bay: Off of 28 on Pleasant Road in West Harwich; limited parking available.

7. Red River Beach: One of Harwich’s larger beaches, off Route 28. This beach is also a great location for swimming, and has restrooms available.

8. Sand Pond: Near town center, on Great Western Road.

Harwich Mariners – Cape Cod Baseball League

Watch the baseball stars of tomorrow play today in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. The top college players gather on Cape Cod each summer for a competitive season of top-notch ball. You will see scouts from the pro teams sizing up the stars of the future.

Cranberry Valley Golf Course on Cape Cod

Cranberry Valley Golf Course is a full service municipal golf course in the town of Harwich. Golf lessons are available and the clubhouse includes a pro-shop and a restaurant.

Harwich Port Golf Club

The 9-hole Harwich Port Golf Club features 2,461 yards of golf with a par of 34. Designed by Don Blakeley, the Harwich Port golf course opened in 1920. The Harwich Port Golf Club House is in an old barn that was converted into the club house and it provides a warm and inviting environment where golfers can relax before and after play.

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History has two floors of exhibits about the flora and fauna of Cape Cod, including exhibits on whales, indigenous birds, and coastal change, and several aquaria holding different species of crustaceans, mollusks, fish, frogs, turtles and snakes. Several displays are interactive and geared to children. Special, temporary exhibits enhance the permanent collection.

Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge

Established in 1944, the 7,600 acre Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge provides important resting, nesting and feeding habitat for migratory birds. The visitor to this wilderness refuge encounters a very special place – a sanctuary that supports an amazing diversity of wildlife and plant species.

Nickerson State Park

Eight crystal clear fresh water ponds are found within Nickerson State Park. These “kettle ponds,” were formed as glaciers retreated from the Cape over 10,000 years ago. Completely dependent on groundwater and precipitation, the water level in the ponds fluctuates from season to season and year to year.

Nickerson’s 1900 acres offers hiking trails, an eight mile bike path that connects to the 22 mile Cape Cod Rail Trail, and ponds stocked year-round with trout. Cape Cod Bay is within walking or bicycling distance. You can swim and canoe at Flax Pond; birdwatch or catch-and-release fish at Higgins Pond, or participate in the many seasonal interpretive and recreational programs offered by park staff.


Harwich Junior Theatre

Harwich Junior Theatre produces fairytales, adventures, musical, classical and contemporary drama for children and family audiences. Harwich Winter Theatre produces a more mature repertoire for young adult and adult audiences. We have learned that when people of all ages create theatre together, the potential for excellence is boundless.
